As an avid biker, I was very excited when we were chosen for this job. It brings us great pride to be able to say that we are the company who installed brand new HVAC systems for BikeCo LLC headquarters. The Bike Company is known for marketing, distributing and selling premium, world renowned and respected bicycle brands including Fuji, Breezer, SE and Tuesday throughout the Americas.
Like most projects, it came with a few challenges to face. The main goal was coordinating with the owner to ensure that the design was satisfactory to his vision for the space. The building turned out to be very modern/industrial, with hints of rustic accents, high open ceilings, and our exposed spiral ductwork was a staple to not only efficiently heating and cooling, but perfectly enhancing the space cosmetically.
Another challenge was the limited space and complexity of the mechanical rooms that were suspended in the warehouse ceiling. We had to be very creative and strategic with the system placements in the mechanical room due to minimal access, keeping within the required code clearances for the systems, and making sure we allowed enough room for servicing and any future change outs.. Overall, to say we had to work with “10 pounds of HVAC of equipment in a 5 pound bag” is an understatement. The building needed 20 tons of cooling and approximately 500,000 BTU of heating which Bryant’s High Efficiency Furnaces provided with ease.
As with other commercial projects, we were on a tight timeline as the owner was very anxious to open his operations and commercial team. The Dyfort brothers….Edward and Aaron, worked tirelessly, along with our project manager Alexander Kobryn, to complete the project on time and on budget! We’re very proud of what our commercial team has achieved and for overcoming the high stress, fast paced work environment, and thriving when the pressure was on.
